Hello Martha, and thank you for the information!
I've done some research on Alice Johnson but didn't know about the Theodora component - interesting.
I'm very familiar with Liberty Hill - I take sprays and flowers to my grandparents up there yearly - harder to do since they recentlyfenced it in!I also caretake the large Johnson plot near the road, where Alice,Tisha, and others whose names escape me at the moment are dwelling. There are more relatives of mine buried there, too - the Evatts (2 sisters who never married) - I knew them as cousins Epps and Rube.
Thank you so much for the info on Granny's daddy! He went out west with a few others to seek his fortune & from what I was told, he never came back (the others did).I recall he supposedly was mayor of some tiny town there, and I was planning sometime to head to Montana to find his burial site.I didn't know about the bartending!I have an ancient postcard he mailed to Acworth.
I recognize the names George W & Martha Cooper- I believe I found them also in the GA Archives years ago.I photocopied everything I found, and haven't gone back much further than the Coopers.I do believe I made a copy of George's surrender papers from the Civil War.
I never expected a reply, much less additional family info - this is seriously exciting!
So - are we like, distant cousins by marriage? :o)
Thank you so much again and take care, Martha.
P
