In researching Northcrosses in MS I came across the Tippah County Census for 1860 which shows Richard Northcross living with Bayli?? and Sarah ?eady. Is this your Ready family line? I was making this ? an H and looking for Heady family members.
I was guessing that this was Richard and Francis Northcross' daughter Sarah born about 1839 (which fits with the 20 year age listed in the census). But I'm confused as to why Richard was living here and Francis was living elsewhere in the county at the time. It would also make Northern Nelms Northcross (born July 18, 1809) Sarah ?eady's uncle.
For other researchers the census lists Bayli?? age as 30 and birthstate as SC. The listing also shows a daughter M. A. age 4 and a son, John, age 2. Both born in MS.
I'm also looking for information on these twins as a way to validate James Northcross of the Alamo's parents. The most frequent references to the twins in this list suggest Bastrop as the deathplace of the twins. What do you have to suggest Montgomery County? Is that the current name for the property James Northcross was due in Milam's Colony Travis County (per grant by document of April 22, 1835)?
