I am looking for John Francis Norsworthy. My grandmother, born in 1900, was the daughter of John Francis Norsworthy, Jr. My father told me that when in grammar school in Montgomery, Alabama, he studied the 'History of Alabama by Marie Bankhead Owen' and that his grandfather, John Francis Norsworthy, Sr., had come down the Alabama River (I think it was the Alabama River), to settle in Alabama. I believe he had sisters, of which Mattie was one. He married my ggrandmother, Mary Russell (maiden name). She was married five times, I know Hyde and Schell were her last two husbands. She outlived each husband before remarrying. My grandmother, Johnnie Francis Norsworthy, told me that her mother was Dutch. Her husband was William Henry Newton, son of William Jasper Newton, of Newton Springs, Alabama who was married to Morning Talitha Butler. I think there had been a clan of Newtons in Newton Springs, Alabama.
I would love to hear from someone who might have more information regarding this line of my family tree.
