Hi Robert,
My grandmother was Elizabeth Jane Norsworthy, born in Aish near Totnes, Devon. Her father was William Snelling Norsworthy, and grandfather was Robert Norsworthy. There are some family in Widecombe, and some in Totnes. The name is sometimes spelt Nosworthy or even Noseworthy. Locally it is pronounced Nosworthy, even with an "r". We found a name change when there was a change in Church clerk at Stoke Gabriel, who obviously didn't know the local people. Half of the family's children were christened without an "r" the other half with. My mother still lives in Newton Abbot, where she was born.
