JAMES NORRIS was born Abt. 1818 in Arkansas, and died Aft. 1870. He married MARGARET A.L. PURSLEY 1845 in Hempstead Co., Arkansas, daughter of DAVID PURSLEY and ELIZABETH HARRIOTT/HERIOT. She was born Abt. 1828 in South Carolina or Tennessee, and died Aft. 1870. They had the following children:
i. WILLIAM D.2 NORRIS, b. Abt. 1846.
ii. THOMAS NORRIS, b. Abt. 1848.
iii. JAMES F. NORRIS, b. Abt. 1858.
iv. GEORGE W. NORRIS, b. Abt. 1863.
v. AMANDA J. NORRIS, b. Abt. 1866.
Not sure if George & Amanda are children OR grandchildren.
In 1850 they Hempstead Co., Ark; in 1860 in Cooke Co., Tx and 1870 in Newton Co., MO. No trace of James and Margaret OR any of their children are found after 1870 census. There is a George W. Norris in Oklahoma in the 1900's that might be one of the sons, but NO proof.
Anyone got info on this family please let me know.
