Hi, My grandmothers story as it was told to me. She was born in the U.S.A and kidnapped (by a sitter) and raised in Italy. On her return to the U.S.A. she hired an investigator to find her family, basically she was given some info but she could no longer afford to pay for the service and was never reunited with her family. Her birth name according to her birth certificate is Mary Charlotte Norris- born March-14-1913 Kings County Hospital (Brooklyn) N.Y. U.S.A Father- James Norris Occupation-Tin Roofer Age- 39 that would place his birth around 1874 or 1875 ? depending on the month he was born Fathers birth place-New Jersey (U.S.A) Mother- Mary Torpey Age 38 that would place her birth around 1875 or 1876 ? depending on the month she was born Mothers birth place- Kings County Brooklyn, N.Y (U.S.A) Previous children 7.… living 4. My grandmother was possibly the 4th or 5th ? .it’s possible more children were born after my grandmother. Address appears to be 471 Greenwich street Jersey city (not Greenwich township). I’m trying to find out who her siblings were but I have been unsuccessful. I have found a James Norris and Mary Torpey on the census that fit the time slot but as children. I’m having trouble finding them as adults . If any one can offer any advice it is most appreciated and thank you for reading. Notify Administrator about this message?
