James was with the 13th NY Havey Artillary first with company G then with Company L . Married Sarah Taylor 1868 in Auiburn NY Cayuga Co. They had five children Mary , Elizabeth , James Jr. Sarah , and William. They moved from Auburn to Fair Haven Village about 1877 , William was there only child born in Fair Haven. In 1873 James H. Norris was caught stealing a horse and trying to sell it to a grocery store owner that he had and unpaid bill with. In 1880 the family moved to Amsterdam NY Montgomery Co. Again James H. Norris was caught in a fraud by picking up a letter for a friend who was out of town . Knowing what was in the letter he took it to Schenectady NY at the OddFellows Hall and intrudused himself as his friend and borrowed 5.00 dollars and left .Shortly after he was arrested tried and sentenced to 6 months in the Erie County NY Penitenary where he died 6 June 1882. Iam looking for other Norris researchers who may be related to my Norris family. Thanks Jim
