Teresa, I actually thought that Robert from Franklin/Warren(Bute) co. N.C. was Anderson's grandfather and that the Robert who died in Baldwin Co. around 1827 could have been Anderson's father, Robert Jr. and his widow, Elizabeth, were residing in lot 117(118 by some accounts). That lot boardered Washington Co. GA were Robert Sr. resided in 1820. Robert Sr. is listed not too far away from a Bostick family. Anderson's wife Winnifred Ledbetter's mother was Lucy Bostick. Also, Thomas Sanford Martin and William Martin can be found on Muster rolls for Bute Co. I believe. I still don't think Anderson Martin Norris was related to an Anderson family, at least not directly. However, may have been to the Martins? I am currently thinking he could have been named after the Anderson for whom Anderson Co. S.C. was named ( formerly Pendleton district)? It's purely speculation at this point. If you look at the last census for Robert Sr., Macon Co., you will see another Green Norris who could have been Robert Sr. grandson? This is the family I had traced back based on my father's account of Roy Samuel Norris who worked at the tobacco factory in the 1920's. I have also seen reference to Alanson Blake Norris's father having also been this Robert? I estimated Robert Sr.'s birth year at right around 1752-53? It's great that you have actually found documention relating a person named Green Norris as being the son of Robert Norris! And from Franklin County N.C. no doubt! This definitely is working well to confirm my findings too. Thanks Teresa for all your help! Tracy Notify Administrator about this message?
