Joseph,
An Anglican Minister, I only know of him as Rev Norrie at the moment, had a huge parish extending from south of Auckland to Hamilton in the North Island of New Zealand in the 1870's. I was actually researching my Mothers family who settled in the pioneering Hunua district just south of Auckland when I came across my paternal surnamesake. If he's connected to you I should be able to research him a bit further. Not much to go on when deciding if he's connected though, sorry....
Doug Norrie
