Sorry I didn't find this sooner! This is my Norred line through my maternal grandfather. And what an interesting line it is.

Marbo, or Mirybo, Marcello Norred was born 3 March 1876 and died 10 November 1914. He is buried in the Winterboro Baptist Church cemetery in Talladega County, Alabama. (Information from printed source, Talladega County Cemeteries.)

He married Shadie Ann Barnett on 29 November 1896 in Talladega County, Alabama. Shadie was born in Alabama on 30 November 1875 and died in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama on 26 October 1949. I don't know where she is buried. (The information on Shadie came from another cousin, Herbert Norred.)

Their children were:
Johnnie Lavender Norred
Nona Elizabeth Norred
Grace Irene Norred
Marvin Alonza Norred
Mana A. Norred
Mattie Bell Norred
Rastus Norred
Hazel Marcella Norred

I'm not sure at the moment where I got all the names. If off census, the spelling could be different. I do have their birth dates and possibly more about a couple of them. I also don't know if that's all the children. You have a couple I don't have. Mirybo, or Marbo, was my grandfather's first cousin, so I haven't concentrated on that particular family.

Here's an interesting story about Marbo's death:

"Mirybo, or Marbo, as he was called, was shot and killed by Mr. Dison (his neighbor and, I believe Marbo's sister's husband) in an argument about some geese that one of them kept to eat the grass in the cotton field. The geese had gotten into the other's yard. An argument ensued and Marbo was killed. Mr. Dison was tried but not convicted."

Another interesting note, Marbo's brother Dink, my great grandfather, was also shot and killed. He was only in his mid 20s.

I have a lot more on the line including pictures. Much of it my own detective work, but I also have the book, The Norred Family Genealogy, which has extensive information compiled by Mana Elizabeth Norred Osborne.

By the way, the Larkin Norred from Tennessee is not our direct line. Our Larkin came from South Carolina. I don't think the Benjamin is our direct line, either. I'd have to look closer, though. I forget so much when I'm not actively working on it.

I'm working on a web site that will include my Norred line, but it's painfully, slow going. I'll post here when it's done, but let's not hold our breath.
