Did your Patience have a sister (or other close relative) named Experience? Some other names may have been Faith, Hope, etc. If so, you may be looking for a Hammond connection to your Norfleet line, as well as a connection to the Lumbee and Cherokee tribes of that area ( perhaps the Nansemond tribe too). My Norfleet/Hammond/McSwain/Bullard/etc line are directly related to these tribes of which the Lumbee are said to be the direct descendants of the 'Lost Colony' of Virginia.
