In a book about the history of Grundy County, I don't remember the name, I read an obit for James Dodge Nordyke, who was murdered. He was buried at the Old City Cemetery.
I didn't save a copy or the name of the book. I had just begun my research and had no idea we were connected. I just made a writen note of it, since his last name was Nordyke and he was from Missouri. So the book exists, but....
