Curious if you have the parents for your John Henry Nordman born 1842 IN. The first William Henry Nordman in my line was born 1815 Prussia, came to the U.S., married Mary Caroline Campbell 1838 Hamilton Co., Ohio. The younger children for W.H. and Caroline were in ARK/TX/OK by 1881--Laura, Emma Agnes, John/Johnny, S. George, Lewis. The first W. H. had a brother Lewis F.(called Fred? according to one story) who came with him to the U.S. Other sons include, at least, Albert, Francis/Frank and Charles/Charlie. The first W. H. changed his German name to William Henry with Nordman also spelled Nortman on various census and documents.

Have you checked on which W. H. Nordman bought land in Cooke Co., TX in 1890? Have you considered the possibility of the Henry Nortman who married 1894 in Clay County, TX being related to your William Henry? He's the Henry Nortman on the 1900 Denton Co., TX census.

The families are related, but the question is how? Was your John Henry a nephew to my William Henry?
