My records, taken from my father's information, show that Jacob Norder, the one that married Euphamia, didn't immigrate to the US. He was born here in 1849. His father Jacob, husband of Kathern, immigrated to the US in 1846 with his wife and his three oldest children. One of those children, your great-grandfather's older brother Casper, fought in the Civil War, 46th infantry division, Wisconsin Volunteers. I am a descendant of Henry Norder, another of Jacob and Kathern's children born in the US.
Interestingly, my records do show Euphamia Geiger as born in Switzerland. I assumed that there were several waves of immigrants to Wisconsin from Canton Glarus.
My father corresponded extensively with Robert Norder, the gentleman who was doing the history of the Norders. While I too have not found a copy of his final book, I do have records of the Norder family stretching back several generations.
Please email me so we can exchange information... I just looked through my database and found you! Apparently Robert gave my father all of the information that you gave him when he visited. I'm sure there is more information that we could share now.
