In the geneology records I have, Leonard Norder (and wife Magdaline), born in 1810 in the Town of Engi, Canton Glarus, Switzerland, had 14 children. Four died in infancy, but there is one listed whose name is Mathias. Probably born somewhere between 1847 and 1857. I am descended from his brother, Dietrick, who was born in 1847. Leonard and Magdalene emigrated to America in 1846, came to New Glarus, Wisconsin, after some of the children were born. Dietrick was born on the way over, and Mathias, in Wisconsin. Leonard and his brother Jacob bought a farm in Dutch Hollow and were the first settlers there. I hope this is helpful to you. Please email if you have questions or want to chat.
