Hello David, So good to hear from you. Yes, we had a wonderful trip and are ready to plan our next one. We absolutely fell in love with Ribchester. It is a beautiful village! We were able to find the Norcross farm at Alston cum Hothersall (or is it the reverse). We talked with three of the present owners (there are four families living there) and they were so helpful in giving information, and even brought out an aerial photograph of the farm as it was before they purchased it. I took a digital photo of their photo. Ancient records say that my Norcross's lived in Dilworth in the 1600s and were weavers. I descend from Thomas Norcross and his wife Mary Chappell, who was a haberdasher in London. My immigrant ancestor was William Norcross who had become a part of the Quaker movement and received a land grant from William Penn for property in Pennsylvania. They sailed in 1699. He died enroute of cholera, however his wife and children established the Norcross line in Pennsylvania and New Jersey from which I descend. I would love to hear from you again. I am so interested in the Norcross family in Lancashire. Leslie Norcross Hines Notify Administrator about this message?
