John M. Riley was born in Batesville, Panola co., Miss. The only family that I know was there was Daniel Nooner. One of his sons, Massey J. Nooner married Nancy Emeline Freshour, 25 Nov. 1846 in Yalobusha co., Miss. (just SE of Panola Co.)
There are his sons, Benjamin, W.M., and John William Nooner that we have no record of their families. However, only Massey and Benjamin would be the right age to have had Mary Nooner, as the others are too young to have a daughter born in 1852. Without further research, I would GUESS that it would be Massey (who had a son George born abt. 1850) or Benjamin.
I will research this further as soon as I can, going into the Mississippi records to see what I can find.
Below you will see the family of Massey and Nancy.
It might be good if you could find the Riley family in this same area at the same period of time, with a son named John. That might tie them together.

Macoy(?) I. Nooner age 24 (1826) Miss.
Nancy E. Nooner age 18 (1832) Ala.
George J. Nooner age 2/12 (1850) Miss.
(This seems to be the same family as Masay/Massey)

Massey J. Nooner and Nancy Emeline Freshour, 25 Nov. 1846.
