It's ashame..... but weird how history almost always repeats itself in some form (even far streched) but within contact. Many of the same things Fred Noonan did are very close to what I am doing now.
I worked as a Seaman, but for the U.S. Coast Guard and am also working towards a merchant mariner license, I taught navigation....... now I'm an Operations Specialist still with the Coast Guard. I was born in the midwest (Evansville, Indiana), my father was also born in the same city in 1959 to William and Bethel Noonan. I grew up in Los Angeles and spent some time in New Orleans, Seattle, and also lived in Oakland for 7 years. If he (Fred) would have been alive today, chances are we would have crossed paths, or he would have been asking me for the navigation information about the radio information for Howland..... Interesting though.
