Does anyone have any information on a General Noonan who fought or whose soldiers fought in the Florida swamps in 1836?
A Goodspeed article on John N. Bates (see the URL below) says that my ancestor John A. Bates served in the War of 1812 up to 1815 and that he was also with General Noonan's command in the Florida swamps in 1836, and was present when the chief, Osceola was captured.
