Hi Julie,
I have just found a George Wilby married to a Lavinia Noon. I have chased around all kinds of documents and so far, I have only encountered 3 possible candidates; the most likely so far, a Lavinia Noon, christened on the 5th of November, 1829, St.Mary (de Castro), Leicester, Leicester, England. Her parents were Samuel Noon and Mary Ann (?).
George and Lavinia are found in Victoria, Australia, which makes your theory of immigration; feasible.
If you know of a Lavinia in your Samuel and Mary Ann's family, I would love to hear from you.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Shari Martin-Reader.
