A friend suggested I Google my name just for fun. Then I ran across this genealogy post. Now I'd like to know more about where this name originated and what other Nolleys to whom I may be related. My parents are Wilson A. Sr. and Daisy C. Nolley. Wilson was born June 24th 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the second son of George Nolley Sr. and Maggie McCullough. His siblings are Eluisher, George Jr. and Lillian L. Nolley. Lillian and George Jr. both reside in the Baltimore area today. George Sr died in the late 60's or early 70's when was just a child. I believe Maggie and Eluisher were both deceased before I was born although I'm not totally sure. Either way, I recall nothing of either of them so they were certainly expired before I was five years of age. Wilson Sr. (Wilco) fathered a son, Anthony, who as a child resided in the Lancaster, Pa. area. I believe Tony was born 1952-1953 and was the first known of several offspring Wilco would produce. I saw my half-brother only once in 1963-1964 when I was about seven years old. I haven't seen or heard from him since and no one on this side of the family seems to know of his whereabouts.
Daisy Christine (Cooper) Nolley was born April 11th 1934 in Rocky Mount, N.C. and met Wilson in the years after her family moved to Baltimore. Daisy gave birth to a baby girl, Vivien Delores, in 1950. The love child of a local lothario, Vivien was raised for her first four-five years by her paternal grand-parents. When Wilco and Daisy married in 1955 they took in Vivien and began to raise a family.
I was born in September of 1956 and in October of 1957 Daisy prematurely bore twin boys, Bryan and Ryan. Only Bryan made it out of the hospital and 18 months later Wilco and Daisy separated due to Wilco's philandering.
In September of 1963 Wilco fathered another son, Wilson Jr. with Sylvia Reed. In subsequent years he would also father another son, Eluisher, and a daughter, Patrice, by another woman named Sylvia. Those two children were kept secret for over 15 years and are understandably estranged from the rest of their siblings because of the treatment they received by Wilco. Or more accurately, the lack of treatment by their father. There are unsubstantiated stories of even more children fathered by Wilco, but since they are unconfirmed, I'll let those sleeping dogs lie.
Wilco transitioned to the next life on 28 October 2003. Daisy followed him 12 May of 2006.
Because my family is so fractured I don't really know many of them beyond my immediate family. Having left the Baltimore area for a 20 year military career hasn't helped any either. If you know of any brothers, sisters, cousins or whatever of George Nolley Sr., I truly be appreciative of any info you care to share.
