Re: Noll Marriages - Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
Margaret Clark 9/21/10
Based on the 1930, 1920 and 1910 censuses of Allegheny County, PA the same Andrew seems to have been the son of Henry and Catherine. They lived in East McKeesport 1930 and in Wilmerding in 1920 and 1910 (misindexed as Nell in 1910).They had a number of children. The family is also listed in the 1900 census in Wilmerding. Henry was born April 1860 in Maryland. His father was born in Darmstadt and his mother in Hessen, Germany. Catherine was born Nov 1870 in PA, her father in Alsace, France and her mother in PA.
Some of these records you can look at for free at labs.familysearch.org and Ancestry.com. For those you cannot see for free I suggest checking with your local libraries to see if they have Ancestry or Heritage Quest.
I suggest getting Andrew's death certificate which will have the cause of death. It will also help to confirm who his parents were. You can also try to get his birth certificate. The PA Dept of Health should have both.
If Andrew and Margaret were married in Pennsylvania their marriage record would have been recorded at the Register of Wills office in whichever county they got the marriage license. In this case it was most likely Allegheny County.
For his obituary and funeral notice check with the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society. If he lived in the area of McKeesport you could also try the McKeesport Heritage Center.
