Oh, great - another variant to track down/through! Any idea of when the change might have occurred? And where? Thought I had found an Italian NOLLETTE recently on the Ellis Island web-site, a Giustino NOLLETTE reportedly arrived from Italy in November, 1910. I was suspicious, as nothing to date had anything about an Italian "branch." Suspicions that the name might have been misspelled at Ellis Island (Nollet-ee not being an uncommon pronunciation), I found Giustino's record in the Social Security Death Index for New York, as Giustino Nolletti. Of course, there still could be a NOLET connection from France into Italy way-back-when....n 'est-ce pas?
