Hello there,

I am researching some of my ancestors who were Nolan's. I am unsure as to whether we are from a similar heritage but I have gone back to John NOLAN born in 1787 and his wife Catherine HUGHES born in 1794 from Kilkenny, Ireland.

They originally sailed to VIC and made their way to NSW. I have very limited info on John NOLAN's parents other then their names, Michael NOLAN and Helena POWER. Many Nolan's have lived in Clunes VIC and Narrandera NSW .

Also from time to time the surname has been spelt differently for example:
NOLAN and/or NOLEN. My late granma's maiden name was NOLAN.

Hope this helps!

Catherine Marks (Newman)
