hi, I am a descendant of the Nokes family from Bromsgrove, I don't have all the information as I have only just started doing our family tree.
It looks like part of our family moved to America and founded Nokesville, but my great grandmother Jessie Ann Nokes is descendant of the Nokes that stayed in England. Her great grandfather is William J Nokes born in 1863 and I think it was his Father or Grandfather that emigrated to America.
I am not sure if this is of any help, but if you have any information on the side that went to America it would be great to have some more information.

Marnie
