Has anyone got this name in their family??George was married in Salford Manchester on the 23rd December 1916 to ELIZA ALICE HOWELL. It says on his wedding certificate that he was a private in the Cameron Highlanders. His fathers name on the cert is GEORGE RAWSON NOKES,(deceased) farmer. George and Eliza had a baby in Salford Manchester on 23rd January 1920,his name is PERCY KENYON NOKES. George and Eliza are my mothers auntie and uncle. My mother always said she had an Auntie Alice who owned a jam factory in Australia. Im having trouble getting any were with Australian Goverment dept as I have no idea if the story is true or if they did go which part of Australia they went to.I think they must have gone some time between Percy being born in 1920 and when my Mother was born in 1925. I dont ever remember her mentioning Percy. Im sure if they had still be in England Percy and my mother would have played together. If anyone can help me I will be very grateful. Or if anyone in Australia has the Nokes name or knows of Percy Kenyon Nokes please let me know. Its Percys 82nd birthday on the 23rd January 2002.
