I am researching the Near Family tree and in birkenfeld germany in the late 1600's and early 1700's i have found the spelling NOHR. in 1709 some of them left and went to holland and england, some to sweeden and the island of caroline. One of them a Carl Neher came to America in 1710. This maybe something for you to check into. Hope it helps
