I have a bit of information to add to this discussion, if I may. I have a "centennial" book which describes two of the Nohr families living in the area of ND where I grew up. It says that Herman Nohr was born 25 September 1828 at Morrison (Brown county) WI, where he lived all his life. He married Henrietta Natzke and they had ten children, among them: Gustie Sleeman of Ontario, Louise of Wayside (Brown county) WI, Arthur of Wittenberg, WI, and Frank Nohr, born 11 March 1870 at Morrison. Frank lived in WI, ND, Wi, Canada and ND. Frank's wife was Wilhelmina/Minnie Altman. Another Frank Nohr lived near this Frank in ND, but the information says they were not related, though this second Frank was also born in WI and came to then Dakota Territory in about 1880.
