Carr Lowe Noe b. 1808 Cabell Co. VA. d. aft. 1880 Wayne Co. Va.
Married: Sarah Jane Withrow b. 1811 Boutetourt, VA. d. Unk.
Marr. date: December 30, 1827 at Cabell Co. Va. (Now WV.)
Children: William 1834, Jacob 1835, Mary 1836, David 1838,
Elizabeth Betty 1840, Nathan 1842, Harvey 1845,
Samuel 1846, and Sarah 1848.
Carr Noe also has a brother named William b. 1804, this confuses some since he is the one who joined the 16th Virginia Confederate Calvary with Carr, his other sons and the Napier friends.
Carr's sister Lucy Noe b. 1810 d. 1860 and another brother Ambrose Noe b. 1820 <--not verified at this point.
William Carr's brother may have been killed in the Civil War - not known for sure still researching.
Lucy is not the Lucy who was scapled by Indians in Virginia, more on that later some other cousins, poor soles all wiped out except Lucy.
Cabell's Tax Lists show Carr using the name Lowe from 1824 to 1829. Census records show Carr Lowe up till 1840. Then back to Noe. Why? Who knows but he sure did confuse things.
My own father confirms this name change, some sort of family fued, other relatives have also confirmed this. Some children use the name Lowe and later changed back to Noe too. One I believe is Samuel.
The Noe's along with the Napiers left Lee Co. Virginia for the Hills of Wayne, Mingo and Cabell Counties sometime in the early 1800's. My roots come from Carr to Harvey to James Noe one of Harvey's four known sons.
The Father of Carr, William, Lucy and Ambrose is still a mystery at this point but I do have some ideas on this. Keeping it a secret till I figure a fact or two. Ambrose may be a mystery too, cant pin him down.
One thing some of our folks ventured into Kentucky shortly after the migration into western virginia. It looks to me like were going to end up with a Peter Noe connection, but can't quite make that link. May have some Maryland roots there. Ok the search goes on good luck and if you can help with any thing or some changes need made let me know. Good luck.
