I am not aware of any connection. Though I am just a novice at this whole thing, I have never heard mention of a circumstance such as the one that you are describing. It is a little odd to me. Actually, as I recall, the area where my family is from was one of (if not the first)states to declare slavery illegal. I believe that they did this around the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. However, I guess we all know that the signing of a law banning something doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't happen. I will give you whatever help I can but I know that there are several people on this forum much more knowledgeable than I am. Some of the people in this "ring" know all about the history of the family and such. I just have a few names and dates and no historical perspective on things. BUT I will check my file to see what I can find. Good luck.
