I am about 95% certain of tracking William Noblett and Margaret (BARR) Noblett. I am now corresponding with descendants of Margaret's brother, Silas. If they can track Caleb to Chatham County, NC I am certain to be on the right track. As William's son, Thomas was born about 1805, and William's Rhea County land was surveyed in 1808, I am guessing that he knew or married Margaret before going to Rhea County. I don't like some of the dates, such as Ann Brereton Noblett having childfren at the age of 45 +/- or one of the Nobletts fathering children at the age of 16, but such issues are improbabilities, not impossibilities, and must be confirmed. If anyone is interested in my information, I would be happy to share. I'm sure to be inviting a lot of garbage, but if you have Microsoft Word I can e-mail you what I have. You can reach me at

I would welcome your thoughts and would like to exchange information. My sources have been the internet, county and state records, some private research, and casting a very, very wide net. A lot of hunches and guesses have gone a long way, too!
