Erasmus NOBLE and Mary PENNINGTON

In my previous post please disregard the query question on the Mary Tuttle that married Jacob Pennington. From further research since my post I believe she was the
wife of a younger Jacob Pennington.

We have been researching Jacob Pennington and his daughter Mary Noble. Has anyone researched this idea much. I have seen a few post on ERASMUS NOBLE, and it caught my attention. I have also been in contact with Rod Pennington on his research. On the theory of the possibility Mary Pennington may have been married to ERASMUS NOBLE?
This theory seems to have a valid connection with Erasmus naming one son Charles Pennington NOBLE- possibility after his mother's maiden name?
And with Mary showing up in the 1762 will of Jacob Pennington as Mary NOBLE.

I know there is a connection between this Jacob Pennington and our Noble family- but there are a few things that puzzles me, that hopefully someone may can shed some light on.

1. Some of the information that I have seen is that ERASMUS was born about 1767? Does anyone know if there a record anywhere or that anyone knows for sure how old Erasmus was or when he was born?

2. This leads me to another question if Erasmus was born in 1767. Mary Noble was said to be born in 1742-47 - this would put her 20-25 years his senior.
It appears very uncommon for an older woman to marry someone this young in those days- but was very common for older men to marry young girls.

3. Also if Erasmus is the husband of Mary Noble listed in Jacobs will of 1762 -- if the birth dates are right on him he was not even born then? If the dates are correct Mary could not have been married to him?

4. If Mary was born in 1742-47 then she would have been 41-47 years old when John was born and 43-49 when Charles Pennington was born? Now this is possible because my dear mother was 45 when I came along.

5. Did Mary have any other older Children than John and Charles?? Maybe they where killed or died from sickness?

I have seen and older John NOBLE that showed up in the South Carolina records. Could it be possible this older John could be the father of Erasmus. If this older John is the father of Erasmus it would make sense him naming his son John after his father? This would make the Mary
(PENNINGTON) NOBLE the grandmother of the younger Rev. John NOBLE? Now Erasmus could still have married a PENNINGTON girl first before he married Rebecca Casey- but which one?

From the information I have seen it seems to point that Erasmus is the father of John Noble and Charles Pennington Noble.

There are some excellent NOBLE researchers in this forum and I am not doubting the work of anyone, just puzzled over these questions????

Hope someone may can help in our quest to answer some these questions, Thanks Danny J. Skillman
