Yes, I am very interested in the family of
Thomas Noakes and Louisa Denman. My grandmother was named Louisa Denman Noakes, daughter of William Noakes and I believe Louisa Denmand, born in Sussex and emigrated
to Quincy, Illinois. He was there in the 1860s. We had a picture of Wannock Manor, I will I could find it. I would love to have more information on this family. I have been in touch with Suzanne, and I have ordered
the LDS films for Jevington, but I do have
trouble reading microfilm as I am approaching 80 and eyes are not too good. Any information will be gratefully received.
I was misled by my parents who added a George
in front of the name, but on census and marriage records in Quincy, he is shown as William, so I am dropping the George. My family travelled all over thw world, and there are not many documents that survived.
The birth date on the tombstone for William shows 1837, but I know these are not always accurate. He married Sarh Hare, born in England, in Quincy in 1863. Her parents, George William Hare and Christian (Kitty) Potter, this couple married in St. Pancras, Middleses and I have that birth certificate.
George William Hare born in Kent Kitty in Devizes. This couple also died in Quincy, IL.
I have a copy of the letter sent to Suzanne, and it was helpful. If you have the actual birthdate for William Noakes, I would appreciate it. I am getting some naturalization films, and maybe will get better information on their arrival in Illinois. Thanks for your message
