In researching my SALAS line, I made some photocopies of pages from New Mexico Roots, Ltd. (the listing of pre-marital investigations). I may have found one of your ancestors on one of the pages I have.
It is from volume IX, page 1668. I viewed the Family History Library microfiche copy of the book (FHL # 605137).
1826, Nov. 6 (no. 52), Tome. Santiago SALAS, son of Antonio SALAS, deceased, and Luciana GARCIA, and Mar. Magdalena CHAVES, d. of Antonio CHAVES and Maria Gertrudis BACA. -- Witnesses: Diego SANCHEZ (55), Manuel ROMERO (47), Andres MIRABAL (60), Juan Manuel GONZALES (50).
From the date and place of the marriage, it looks like it might be your Santiago Sr. Before you put it into your family history, verify that it is one of your ancestors from another source (baptismal records for Santiago, Jr. for example).
Best of luck to you.
