1-"Origins Of New Mexico Families-A Genealogy of The Spanish Colonial Period." By Frey Angelico Chavez. Published By The Museum Of New Mexico Press. ISBN 0-89013-239-9.. You may want to look at page 166 and 353, It says that Juan (Jose) Antonio Cortes was the son of Jose Cortes Del Castillo and Maria De Caravajal. It has several more pieces of information.

2-" The Spanish Recolonization of New Mexico-An Account of the Families Recruited at Mexico City in 1693." By Jose Antonio Esquibel and John B. Colligan. Published By The Hispanic Genealogical Research Center Of New Mexico. ISBN 0-9652-463-I-0..Pages176 and 409 has the genealogy of Jose Cortes Del Castillo.
