Greetings:

I am sorry-The DM's are the Deligencias Matrimoniales (prenuptial investgations) that were conducted by the Priests on some of the people that were wanting to marry.Fray Angelico Chavez translated and compiled a lot of them in an orderly method and he titled his work "New Mexico Roots, LTD." One can access them at the Family History Centers on microfiche..The one for Pedro Cortes is as follows.

New Mexico Roots, LTD. By Fray Angelico Chavez, Page 416, 1788, Aug 23 (No.26), Santa Cruz. PEDRO CORTES (68), Espanol of Las Truchas, Widowed of Josefa Sandoval, Son of Jose Cortes and Juana de Mata Espinosa, both deceased, and MARIA ANTONIA ROMERO (44), Espanola, widow of Juan de Dios Romero, Daughter of Juan Luis Romero, deceased, and Guadalupe Lujan. -Witnesses: Julian Bustos (50), Ignacio Cordova (32), Pablo Varela (50), Pascual Fernandez (30), all Espanoles.

From the book " 100 Years of Marriages 1726-1826, Santa Cruz Dela Canada, New Mexico." Extracted by Henrietta Martinez Christmas and Patricica Sanchez Rau. Extracted from LDS Microfilm Reel # 16972.

Marriage Registry Page 39. July 27, 1783, Chimayo, PEDRO CORTES with MONICA JOSEFA SANDOBAL, Padrinos: Juan Padilla and Maria Mascarenas. Witnesses:Jose Sandoval, Juan Bautista Bexil and Paulin Martin.

Best of luck on your search.

Alberto
