Hey Dena,
Now I'm sorry that I have not responded to you sooner.I do not have any info on your Maldonado line.I believe that they probably connect somewhere.
I will try and check on this myself when I go to the library and see if I can come up with anything.
My Maldonado line ended up in Logan, NM which is not that far from Wagon Mound.
I have my Maldonado line traced back to Joseph Maldonado & Luisa Tenorio from Santa Fe, NM around 1750.
I am sure that you are familiar with seeing those names, since they are mentioned in Chavez's book ORIGINS.
To add another note, there seems to be two different Spanish lines of Maldonado in New Mexico. One is the one that I just mentioned (my line). And Maldonado's, who were originly Montano's. They changed there surname I believe around the late 1700's.There does not seem to be any connection between the above mentioned lines.
I just threw that in because I thought that that was something interesting that I recently learned. It seams like these who were originily Montano were all from the areas south of Albuquerque.
Please keep in touch. Also a quick question, do you have any Bruce family from Clovis or Albuquerque, NM.?
Thanks,
Charlie B. Maldonado
