I had a friend,Edmundo Rice his grand mothers maiden name, Barela ,married Chacon,born and raised in Trinadad CO.I had a True West (mag.)whith a story about a Rafial Chacon, from Santa Fe NM.Went to Monterey MX.To military Academy,about the time the US. took over,he returned to Santa Fe(a long story) any way ended up in what is now Trinadad.settled it and was the ancester of Gandma Chacon.She was a old lady,still living in 1948. I worked as a cowboy for C.P.Newcomb He was an old time,rancher at least 75-80 at the time,out by the old town site of Barela a old land grant.Mr.Barela, was CO.State Senetor for 44yrs.
