You didn't say what your grandmother's name was, which might have been helpful.

In the Governor of New Mexico's Report, 1902, habitations in Union Co. are listed, with La Ceja having a population of 329. It is not listed as having a post office, however.

There was at least one sanitarium (I am supposing TB)in the county in 1902.

Have you contacted the Union Co. historical society?
