We may be able to help each other.I have come across a mystery and both of them point to the descendants of Maria Altagracia Esquibel. The IGI records of the LDS website have Maria Refugio de Altagracia Numen as the daughter of Jose Rafael Numen/Newman and Maria Altagracia Esquibel. This family is found in the 1850 census for Santa Fe, NM.The family of Altagracis is in Santa Fe in 1870 and she is still using the name of Newman. She gives her age as 43, which gives a birthdate of about 1816-1817.In 1880, she is again still in Santa Fe under the name of Altagracia Esquibel. With her is living her daugher REFUGIO, who gives her age as five years younger that the Refugio of the 1850 census.Living with them are several grandchildren under the name of Cavanaugh. This REFUGIO had six children by two different men that she was not married too: Finis Ewing Kavanaugh fromLafayette Co, MO (also know as FE Kavanaugh) and Louis Gold from Germany(who was a Jewish pioneer in New Mexico). The REFUGIO of the 1880 census married a Filomeno Coriz/Coris before 1900 and is living in New Mexico.Since there are records to show that the Refugio/Refugia born in 1833 is the one that married Thomas Bowler, who is the other one, who has a birthdate in 1838?The 1880 and 1900 census clearly shows that the younger Refugio is the daughter of Altagracia Esquibel. In 1850, there is no daughter with that birthdate and her other daughers are married. Can you help at all?
