Alfonso,
Since your reply to the Legend of Jo Sanchez & Rosa Sandoval
was done so well, I was prompted to ask you for help with a historical type question of my own.
In researching my family ancestry, I found that my great grandmother's brother, Roques Burns of La Plaza del Rio Bonito was baptized by Pedro Lasseigne on Jan 28 1870 in
St. Francis of Paula, Turarosa, NM. The record shows that he was the son of John Burns and Isabel Garcia and the Padrinos were Jose Dotson, the writing is difficult to read, and Maria de la Cruz Montoya. I later found that the Priest Pedro Lasseigne died July 18, 1909 in Las Vegas, NM.
What do you know about Rio Bonito, Ft. Stanton, the surrounding area and do any of the above names appear in any of your research documents?
If you can and are willing to help me. Contact me at [email protected].
Thank You
Tom
