Hi Nancy,

I am responding to your post hoping that you are still receiving messages from this forum after several years. I am contacting you because I am a long time researcher of the Lincoln County New Mexico history, having been born and raised in Roswell and a member of the LCHS for many years. I am looking for descendants of former residents of Lincoln County with the intention of compiling information and documents to complete and augment the history of the County which up till now has been for the most part over looked. As you probably already are aware, most of the books dealing with the Lincoln County War and the aftermath are what I would term as being "Billy the Kid" or "Tunstall" heavy. That is, they are mainly concentrated on the events and history from the perspective of those two participants. Because of this it is my opinion that the definitive history of those events has yet to be concluded and that there are still so many unanswered questions regarding it all. I would like very much to get in contact with your husband and talk with him about information, documents, and other pertinent facts about Juan Patron he may have or may know of other family members who have such items. I grew up knowing and having friendships over the years with many of the descendants of Lincoln pioneers and participants, however this would be my first contact with a descendant of Jaun Patron whom I believe is one of the major participants that has been consistently ignored aside from superficial recognition in connection with events he personal had participation. Thanks in advance.
