I did some research on Teordora locally (Silver City), and came up with quite a lot of info! (There is obviously more to be had about her husbands, as they were both rather prominent men here.)There are many pages of little tidbits from the local papers, obits for her, and both husbands,a picture of the Tremont House-the hotel that they owned-lots of tidbits that may be of interest to you. If you would like copies of any or all, or even photo's of the headstones, I will be happy to provide them-just say the word! (She,Mr.Ott,Mr.Hobart,and her son John are all buried in the same plot) I also found that her mother was,at the time of ther death, "Donna Jesus Gandara"-her funeral was April 13,1900, and had died the Thursday previous.
Teodora actually died in Tucson,AZ in Feb. of 1919 and was returned here for burial. In looking for personal info for her, you can obtain her death certificate from the Arizona Archives, which should give you some of what you seek. They can be reached at:
Arizona State Library,Archives and Public Records
1700 W. Washington -3rd Floor
Phoenix,AZ 85007
www.lib.az.us
archive@lib.az.us
(They are wonderful providers of records-quicker and easier than the state health office)
Some info for Teordoa conflicts though;census records show her born in Chihuahua,Mexico, her obit says she was born in Las Cruces,NM. (I have looked up the 1870,1880,and 1900 census info for her so far)And the Masonic Cemetery Records show her to be "Theodora". But, she must have been an amazing Lady; her obit says "Her's was a most beautiful character and a priceless heritage to her children, to whom she was intensely devoted"
So, if you would like copies of anything, the census records, etc. let me know!
