Just for the record, it turns out "Dugan" was "Bryan" J. Carpenter. Emily L. was nee Paddleford, widow of first a Sinclair, then James H. Carpenter, when she married Charles E. Minix in Eddy Co. NM. And she was in Eddy Co. NM in 1900.
