From Toby Smith : "It is held every two years. If you want to find out anything about Dawson, that's a pretty good place to start. The picnic is held on the old townsite here in New Mexico, which is private property and thus normally closed. Perhaps someone at the reunion will have information about your relatives. Generally, about 1,000 people attend, most of them kin of Dawsonites."
A good contact for the Reunion is Jerry Scanlon. You can reach him in Albuquerque at 505-821-4566. He will be able to give you details on the event and perhaps can answer some of your questions.
There will be a Cleanup Day on 1 Sep in Dawson at 8 AM. We will do some cleanup work at the cemetery and at the picnic site.
On Saturday night, 2 Sep, there will be a social at the Elks Lodge in Raton. Doors open at 7 PM.
