1. The Vermejo Park quadrangle includes Colfax County NM AND Las Animas County CO (Trinidad). That fact along with another research that I helped with leads me to think YES,
the NM & CO lines were "blurred" back then.
2. I agree with your find that Celso J. died 4/21/1925,
Colfax County, age 66 1/2. But I don't think that the death cert will have his parent's names.
3. Have you looked for the marriage record of Celso J. and
Pablita, 1888? Most Holy Trinity Parish, Trinidad CO, Marriages 1866-1916 FHL 2784. The marriage record, if you can find it, should have the parent's names.
(Baptisms 1866-1901 is FHL 2776)
4. Luis de Jesus Chavez? Did you mean to say born 1886?
