William,I have looked at Mahlon,Philemon D. and could only find 1 Ruth near b- date of my Ruth Dickerson, which was daug of Widow Cruver? I think this daug was b- 1802? been some time since I felt I hit a brickwall on her. My Ruth Dickerson was b- 1801,probably sussex co NJ Vernon twp. I say that as that is where I found the marriage in Cases wedding book dated March 1817.
I joined the TOWNSEND society for 10 years and they could not help. However, 1 of the sons of my John Butler Townsend and Ruth Dickerson died in Seneca co NY at Townsend Homestead* where Philemon is burried. I have been working form over 10 years with 1 other researcher in Michingan on this linked to this family and neither of us could find a direct link to Mahlon, but I feel certain we have to connect some how? Just too many clues not to be.
Seems like every Townsend line we try they tell us no we dont know your line, so we just gave up. We both tried submittin our dna and still didnt get any results. Like I said the only Ruth D. near 1801 was by 2nd wife Widow Cruver, and his first wife was a Sinsenbaugh.
Are we overy looking something? or is this the best we can do? I have lots info after their marriage, location, children, chldren marriages, dates, but we could never tie in prior to their marriage, either Dickerson or Townsend.
Apprecaite your reply, Dotty
