Is there any information out there about the history of Mansfieldwood House, New Jersey (Sussex County) in 1762. I have two individuals who were "yeoman of Mansfieldwood House" in May of 1762. They were Reuben and Charles Kemp. Charles Kemp signed a marriage bond on May 31, 1762 on the occasion of Reuben Kemp's marriage to Jane Stewart of Greenwich, New Jersey. I know that Reuben Kemp was a blacksmith but I have no information about Charles Kemp. As far as I've been able to learn, neither man owned property in Sussex County and they didn't stay very long. Is there any record I might consult that would tell me what the two men were doing in Sussex County, New Jersey in May of 1762? I'd very much appreciate any advice or information.
