On 4 June 1788 William Carl & Thomas Carl signed a bond as administrators of the estate of Samuel Carl late of Fredericksburgh precinct, in Dutchess Co., NY, farmer, dec’d. Bond by William Carl of Sussex Co. in state New Jersey, farmer, Thomas Carl, Thomas Horton and Nathaniel Gildersleve all of Fredericksburgh precinct in Dutchess County, New York, farmers for Sum L 500.
