I happened upon the one entry and it was only designated as by A M SHOTWELL in 1888. I found that the SMITH - WILSON/WILLSON families listed therein, tied in with my newly found DNA related MILLS family, of which Rebecca SMITH who married to John MILLS B: 1733 of Sussex Co NJ USA who also removed eventually to Grimsby, ON CAN, 1793/94 escorted to the enemy lines.
This family does inter marry to the WILSON/WILLSON family of Usual Ogden WILSON Sr and Jr, etc. His father being John WILSON and his wife only as Mrs WILSON, his father as Joseph WILSON and Polly CARPENTER, son of Mr. WILSON and Ann.
On the other side of the coin, that is, the SMITH Tree, is the Samuel SMITH = Elizabeth, Esther DUNHAM Family, of which Rebecca SMITH descends, thus the male MILLS descendant who did the DNA test.
of the WILSON family group, is Usual Ogden WILSON Jr married Elizabeth MILLS dau of Seelah/Seela MILLS and Elizabeth COLLARD son of John MILLS and Permilia SEELEY/SEELY, son of John MILLS and Rebecca SMITH.
The SMITH family seems to go back to Thomas SMITH and Susan WARD of Brinspittal, England.
Usual Ogden WILSON Sr also had a dau Marilla WILSON/WILLSON who married Mahlon N BROOKFIELD, who then removed to Iowa or Kansas, and married Ms. HOWARD, they had a dau and named her Marilla.
this particular line of WILSON/WILLSON seems to be a little unclear in that not every one agrees who was Marilla's parents.
Marilla then marries about 10 years later to Jacob LOUKS, of ON CAN, and his sister Elizabeth LOUKS married to Abraham MILLS, son of John MILLS and most likely Permilla SEELEY/SEELY, son of John MILLS and Rebecca SMITH of Sussex Co NJ USA.
Possibly there is a will located in Sussex Co NJ USA someplace, on file, that tells when Mr. WILSON died, and who was his heirs???
I too am having trouble finding out who was the parents for sure, of John MILLS who married Rebecca SMITH.
One person has him as son of Andrew MILLS and Sarah MOREHEAD. But again, through DNA testing, another line that is supposed to descend down that one, does not match up on the DNA test result markers.
Has any one of the WILSON/WILLSON family done DNA Testing to see if in fact, which branch of the GREATER WILSON/WILLSON tree that they might belong?
Would help to sort out a little more.
